Royal Sovereignty

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

With Queen Elizabeth’s passing and the royal family prominently featured in the news this week, I decided to take a look at their Planetary Blueprints and discovered some really interesting similarities among them. These similarities are in their Primal Desire nature.

Our Primal Desire nature, aka our field of Wealth, is what we regard as wealth, what is most valuable to us; that is aside from money which is what most of us regard as wealth. But true wealth is what we desire most, if we had all of the money we could ever want, what is it we truly desire?

For instance, Mercury governs my Primal Desire nature which is the desire for esoteric knowledge and to share it, which is undoubtedly why I am sharing this with you now.

When Mars is in a person’s Primal Desire nature they have a desire for self-sufficiency and power. That is power over themselves (sovereignty, self-sufficiency) and power over others. Mars is, as you might well imagine, a fiery, dynamic energy. In its lower vibrations it can be angry and even war-like. But in its higher vibrations it is just pure dynamism, the call to action, indomitable spirit.

Interestingly, all of the current line of succession of the British royal family have Mars as their Primal Desire nature, beginning with Queen Elizabeth ll and extending down through King Charles lll, Prince William, and Prince William’s eldest son George. You might say that ascending to the throne is their karmic destiny.

The Queen or King serve as examples of sovereignty, and are referred to as the ‘Sovereign’. And perhaps that is why they are revered as much as they are. Their appeal is to that sovereign archetypal nature which most of us long for and have to varying degrees.

And, the Primal Desire nature of Prince Harry, who is not in the direct line of succession to the throne, is not governed by Mars.  It is governed by the Moon which is the desire for deep emotional bonding. The Moon is the nurturing aspect of our being, our emotional body. So family takes priority and is his primary duty. This may at least partly explain why Prince Harry stepped away from the royal life to protect his wife Meghan and their children from what some may experience as a restrictive way of life.

An interesting aspect of our Primal Desire nature is that we may not be consciously aware of it, which is of course also true of all of the Fields of Living which represent each aspect of our innate nature. Whenever I give a Planetary Blueprint, most of the fields ring true on a deep soul level and contribute to a person’s self knowledge and appreciation of their uniqueness, as well as a general acceptance of themselves and others. But not always. Sometimes these are more deeply ingrained in our unconscious and are only revealed with a deeper level of soul searching. And, they tend to manifest in somewhat different ways.

For instance, Queen Elizabeth’s Mars is in Capricorn in her birth chart right alongside Jupiter. So, since Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and is the most practical, down-to-Earth energy of the zodiac, her Mars and thus also her Primal Desire nature will have a very practical and tradition-bound flavor to it. And because Jupiter is so close to her Mars and her Ascendant (the constellation rising on the Eastern horizon at the moment of her birth) is Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius, her desire nature was tempered by a sense of duty, justice, fairness, equality, magnanimity.

King Charles’ Mars is strong in its own sign of Scorpio which gives him more of a supportive and nourishing quality. And, his Ascendant is Moon-ruled Cancer, the emotional nurturing energy. But Jupiter is in its own sign in Sagittarius giving him a similar sense of duty, justice, and fairness as his mother Queen Elizabeth.

Here are all of the Primal desires:

Sun – desire for leadership and adulation., to be seen.
Moon – desire for deep emotional bonding, nurturing.
Mars – desire for self-sufficiency, sovereignty and power.
Mercury – desire for all forms of deep, esoteric knowledge and the opportunity to express it.
Jupiter – desire for community and fellowship with others.
Venus – desire for ideal love relationships and beauty in all its forms.
Saturn – desire for a more private, hermetic life.
Nodes of the Moon, Rahu and Ketu – desire to be a rebel, revolutionary, outlaw and to purify society of outdated, outmoded conventions and institutions.

Now of course we can have more than one of these desires, though there is one of these that is our Primary desire, that is Primal in our nature.

You may, of course, use your own intuition and deep soul searching to discover your Primal Desire nature. And/or you can sign up for a Planetary Blueprint reading here. No one is turned away for lack of funds.

Tiger Woods on Fire

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Tiger Woods went sailing down a steep curvy road in Rancho Palos Verdes, California Tuesday morning shortly after 7 a.m. PT. Of course he did. He was in a hurry for a photo shoot with two great NFL quarterbacks, Drew Brees and Justin Herbert, and he was running a bit late. Haven’t we all done this when we were late?

Unfortunately he lost control of his beautiful Genesis SUV and careened over the median and “veered across two lanes of road before hitting a curb, hitting a tree and landing on its side in the brush.” And he was seriously injured, shattering his lower right leg and ankle. The police officer on the scene of the crash said he was fortunate to have survived.

Tiger Woods is driven. It is what makes him such a great golfer, undoubtedly the best ever. His Sidereal Astrology birth chart and Planetary Blueprint reflect this.

Tiger’s Mars is very strong, Mars in its highest vibration is dynamism, an overcome-all-obstacles energy. Adventure, risk-taking, fire.

And in transit (in the cosmos right now, as above so below) Mars just moved into the same sign, Taurus the Bull, as Tiger’s Mars, Sunday night adding fuel to his fire.

Also, Tiger entered his Mars maha-dasha (great cycle) last June 13 further activating it in his energy field right now. At the time of his crash, for you astrology buffs, he was in the energy field (dasha field which indicates which planets are strongest in a person’s life right now) of Mars Rahu Jupiter Rahu Ketu. Of course, being in Mars maha-dasha, Mars shows up first and is strongest in this field.

Rahu is the rebel and was in second and fourth position in his energy field. Rahu is that part of us all that wants to break free of stagnation and boredom, that wants change, new adventures and challenges. Rahu amplifies whatever it touches, it is about desire and destiny, and in Tiger’s birth chart Rahu is right next to his Mars, within 22 degrees, amplifying his spirit of adventure and risk-taking. So, Mars in transit as it entered Taurus activated his Rahu as well.

And then, notice Ketu at the end of this spread. Ketu is about loss. Loss on the material level but gain on the spiritual level.

But also notice Jupiter in the middle of this spread. He was in a hurry for a noble purpose, to serve, and out of consideration for the people he was meeting and the show they were producing. Tiger’s Jupiter is very strong in its own house of Pisces. And what does that mean? Selfless service. Fairness, justice, equality, balance, big picture awareness. In other words, the Tiger Woods foundation, the foundation he and his father established in 1996 “to create and support community-based programs that improve the health, education, and welfare of all children in America.”

When you balance these Jupiterian qualities with his powerful, firey Mars you have a powerful force for good in the world.

And yes, Tiger too has his shadow side, but who doesn’t? But for right now we won’t dwell on those.

To delve deeper into who this extraordinary Being is, let’s take a look at where all of the planets fall in Tiger’s Planetary Blueprint.

Tiger’s Mars governs his Primal Desire nature, the desire for self-sufficiency and power, influence. In other words, independence.

His Spiritual Nature is governed by the Moon, the doorway of Bhakti, the path of the Heart. Think bhajans, kirtan, devotion and all of the things that open and uplift the heart, like cute puppy dogs, children, anything that is hugely heart opening and makes us feel our interconnectedness with all that is.

His Relating Style is governed by Jupiter. This means he is giving, serving and balanced in his way of relating in the world, the way he speaks, the way he interacts with people.

His Career Nature is governed by the Sun. Think leadership. The king.

Tiger’s field of Creative Play, how he recreates, is governed by Saturn, of course. The body. Physical activities like golf. And, also the opposite of physical activity, basking in beauty.

His Dharma is that of a Venusian Brahman as Venus rules this field. Dharma is life purpose and the life purpose of a Venusian Brahman is to bring new knowledge, new perspectives, new energy to the world. Tiger’s huge success on the PGA tour transformed the golf world and made it much more popular with much bigger prize money and sponsorship dollars. He became a household name. Even people who don’t follow golf have heard of Tiger Woods. He inspires and uplifts whatever he touches.

And the way that Tiger projects his energy into the world, which is known as his field of Mental Health, his Vital Body, is governed by the planet Mercury which means he projects adaptability, flexibility, and a keen, perceptive intelligence.

From almost all I have read and seen of Tiger Woods all of this totally fits. And, of course, we all make mistakes. Seriously.

We are appreciating you Tiger Woods and all that you bring to the world! Heal well!

Time for a Truly Spiritual Bypass Anyone?

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

There is so much chaos in our collective field right now. Are the forces of darkness and greed behind this Coronovirus? Did it occur naturally or was it created in a lab? Was it released intentionally or by accident? Can an effective vaccine be created or will that just further weaken our immune systems? Who stands to profit from this? And on and on and on… and all sides of these, and other, issues are being projected into the collective mind field with so much passion and fear.

And this Coronovirus issue is only the tip of the iceberg. We are indeed in the midst of a Civil War, a war of different perspectives, different beliefs, different ideas, each denouncing the other with such venom. Such chaos! We are collectively in the midst of a civil war, a war of ideas, different perspectives, different beliefs, some more holistic, some less so…. which lens to look through?

And all of this apparent chaos exists within the energetic field of our minds, and of the reality we have co-created. However, chaos is often the precursor to a new reality, a reordering, where everything is shaken up and remixed and cast anew. Perhaps we are in the midst of the dissolution of all that we have previously known, so that a new order will reveal itself? It certainly seems so.

The process of dissolution will appear chaotic, and when we are immersed in this field of chaos, and not grounded in the Presence of our Being, our minds will be in chaos, in turmoil, spinning this way and that, grasping in search of truth, but always guided by fear. And within this field of chaos we attempt to make sense of it all, and to restore order which only adds to the chaos.

When so much chaos exists within the field, is it not time to pause, to be still, to take a deep breath, to see beyond the collective mind, beyond our own minds to the stillness at the core of our Being? At times like these, the only recourse to restore order to the collective mind field is to transcend the field, transcend the mind, bring our attention to that which observes the mind, each thought, and all these chaotic thoughts. When we transcend all thought, order is restored to our minds, and then the collective field and the thoughts that emerge within it are more orderly, more coherent, grounded in Presence, in clarity, in Truth.

And we all experience this. Do we not all think more clearly after a good rest, a good vacation, giving our mind’s a break? Many of the great thinkers and innovators throughout history report that it is only when they left the problem behind that solutions began to appear. Clarity comes from the deep wellspring of Silence beyond all thought out of which all thoughts emerge. And when this field beyond thought is tapped, the thoughts that emerge are more coherent, more orderly, more creative, more purposeful. This is the Peace beyond all understanding, the ground of our Being.

And then out of this inner field of Silence, beyond all fear and chaos, we can see the big picture and all of the forces that are at play, and choose more wisely where and when and how to act. Restoring order to the collective field must be our first priority in these chaotic times. And what will emerge will be the insight into all we have in common as humans on this small planet spinning through empty space. Tapping this inner wellspring of creativity and orderliness arouses the heart of compassion and elevates the field in which the lower vibrations of greed and every-man-for-himselfness reside.

Only when we step out of the field of chaos, out of the field of thought, can order be restored to our minds…. the field out of which all thought emerges is self regulating, self correcting. Our thinking becomes clearer.

*******************************************************************

So much has been written denouncing the Spiritual Bypass over the last couple of decades, perhaps it is time to entertain the virtues of a good, truly Spiritual, Bypass.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the practice of Spiritual Bypassing, it is a phrase that describes a trick of the mind that arose out of Advaita Vedanta, Self Inquiry which has become popular in some circles in the last few decades. in which we are are asked the question “Who is having this thought, this emotion, this experience?” This is a useful question, a question of Self Inquiry which enlivens the inner witness and allows us to see we are not our thoughts, our feelings, our jobs or any of the roles we play in life. Who we are is pure awareness, the inner witness, within which, or out of which, all thoughts and experiences occur.

Self Inquiry is a useful practice as it can help to cut the cord of identification with our minds, our bodies, or the roles we play (parent, student, teacher, husband, wife, our careers, etc.) and give us a seat in the audience of our lives all the while remaining active actors on the stage of our lives. When the Inner Witness is enlivened and stabilized in our experience, the roller coaster of life can be navigated more gracefully, we no longer become as much of a ping pong ball, we are grounded in pure Being, Empty Presence. We become less ‘at the effect of’, controlled by circumstances. And from this place of inner stability, we can act more effectively and wisely.

Spiritual Bypassing occurs when in the face of the tragedies of our lives (the most traumatic of which generally involves some kind of loss), instead of feeling the grief, the anger, the fear or whatever powerful emotions may arise, we suppress these emotions by asking the question ‘who is having this emotion, who is experiencing this grief’? And then the emotion gets bypassed, suppressed. And it is now pretty common knowledge that suppressed emotions can later erupt into all sorts of physical maladies. And subsequently a whole field has emerged to help us get in touch with our suppressed emotions and free them.

Suppressing our emotions, bypassing them though is not exclusive to the practice of Self Inquiry. We have all been conditioned collectively to replace sad thoughts with happy ones, to adopt a positive outlook, which is not bad advice. We certainly don’t want to wallow endlessly in grief and sadness, because we all know there is no end to that. There is no cheese down that tunnel, as a good friend of mine often says. Therein lies an endless pit of anguish and despair and depression which is anything but life supporting.

It is time, however, within this great Pause, to truly Pause, take a deep breath, step out of the field of the mind periodically, give our mind’s a rest, and then see what emerges from there. Let’s also feel our emotions fully as we ride these waves of global transformation, but also allow our minds to take a break from the chaos, to rest in the Pure Presence of our Being. And then, grounded in Presence, act.

“”I had a GREAT session with Orion! He prepared a Spiritual Blueprint and a Vedic Astrology chart for me. Not only was he thorough but he was able to give specific insight over all areas of my life (career, relationship compatibility, etc.)

During the process of learning about my stars, I had several “aha!” moments that helped me better understand my nature, validate my intuition, and understand how to deal with challenges. I am so grateful and would highly recommend to a friend!! Thank you, Orion!”
– Danielle Eastberg

“My first reaction to the written summary of his reading was surprise and a feeling like, “boy is he way off base”.

Because he was clear that the information was simply a tool for me to explore and not accept as established fact, taming the “rebel’ in me, a safe space was created for me to truly honor and process the information.

I am writing this some three months later because it is clear to me that the peace of mind, I am now experiencing, the level of acceptance I have with my spiritual journey up until now and the new relationships and open doors for the work i do all are due in part because of the insight and wisdom i gained about myself from the reading.

Today, I know his assessment was “right on” offering me clarity about so much of my life and journey and the willingness to explore shadow aspects of my personality, taking the time to process and integrate.

I am profoundly appreciative, so very grateful. I urge you to purchase his book and book an appointment.

Much love and appreciation
Audrey Addison Williams”

Here is a sample Spiritual Blueprint similar to the one you will receive:

Sandy
Sample Blueprint

Saturn is your Spiritual doorway, the doorway of the Body.

The body, and the challenges it may provide you, is the doorway to an even deeper awakening.

  • Spiritual Nature – Saturn (Hatha Yoga, the doorway of the body)
  • Caste—-Venus (Brahmin – priests, counselors, educators)
  • Primal Desire -Mercury (desire for esoteric/spiritual knowledge)
  • Career-Nodes of the Moon (Rahu/Ketu)
  • Relating Style -Mars (bold, straight forward, willful)
  • Creative Play-Jupiter (body, alone time, retreat, basking)
  • Vital Body-Sun (leadership)

The interpretations of all of these fields are given below. In each field you will see all the different possibilities so you can see how yours compares with the others and see how well it fits you. Edward Tarabilda, who discovered this paradigm, says:

“The spiritual, subjective spiritual blueprint should be treated as a scientific hypothesis rather than as established fact, and it is certainly offered in that spirit.”

So, of course, you are encouraged to check this with your own personal experience as you would with anything else.

Spiritual Nature

This is how you transcend the mind and realize your true essence as pure consciousness most fully. Before realization you would call this your spiritual path. After Self Realization you would call this your spiritual expression, that which nourishes you most fully spiritually.

The spiritual natures are:

Saturn – Hatha yoga (doorway of the body)
Venus – Raj yoga (doorway of the senses)
Mars – Laya yoga – (doorway of the subtle body, chakras, shakti kundalini)
Moon – Bhakti (doorway of the Heart)
Mercury – Gyan yoga (doorway of the intellect, discrimination, self-inquiry)
Jupiter – Karma yoga (doorway of selfless service, the mind)
Sun – Integral (all of the above, like a honey bee going from flower to flower getting nectar from them all)
Nodes of the Moon, Rahu/Ketu – (the doorway of Tantra)

Your spiritual nature is governed by the Saturn, the path of Hatha Yoga, the path of the Body.

Hatha Yoga
The Path of the Body and Physical Purification

Hatha Yoga is a doorway to Self Realization that most people are familiar with. It involves yoga postures in its purest form, but also could involve dance, or running or any form of transcendence of the mind through the body, as well as physical purification practices such as fasting or cleanses.

In addition to the wide range of Hatha yoga practices, the whirling dervishes of the Sufi tradition, and the ultrarunning disciples of Sri Chinmoy are classic examples of transcendence of the mind through the activity of the body. Most people have experienced this type of transcendence to some degree. It includes the endorphin rush of the distance runner and the deep relaxation and sense of oneness one gets from exhausting physical activity. It is perfect mind/body coordination, the experience of being in the Zone.

This doorway is also known as the doorway of Saturn.

This doorway can also be called the Doorway of Silence, or the Doorway of the Hermit or Recluse. Those individuals who have an urge towards monastic life are sometimes on the path of Saturn. I say “sometimes” because there can be other factors which create a desire to leave the world, but which do not arise from the field of spiritual life.

Individuals whose spiritual nature is governed by Saturn are often skeptical and cautious by nature. Their approach to the spiritual life needs to be concrete, practical, and tied to objective research and thought.

Saturnine spiritual beings have a tendency to turn their natural skepticism back on themselves, but this is never a useful process and only deters their spiritual growth.

The physical body is the vehicle or mirror through which consciousness is able to shine. When the mirror is cleaned, consciousness is experienced more clearly.

Too often Hatha Yoga is treated as an adjunct to the other Yogas. For those with Saturn as their spiritual nature, it is a powerful doorway in its own right.

All these classes with scantily clad men and women practicing yoga asanas in large groups are okay for mere exercise. However, they are the antithesis of Hatha Yoga as a spiritual doorway. Hatha Yoga is meant to be practiced alone in a quiet and windless place.

Fasting of the five senses is an important part of Hatha Yoga. This can include periodic sexual fasting (abstinence), food fasting, fasting from speaking, sleep fasting on a full moon night or a Saturday night (Saturn rules Saturday), and even periodic visual fasting.

Saturnine beings always feel that they are in the world but not of it. They may have had these feelings even as children.

This is a path that grows stronger as the person gets older- Saturn governs old age.

Those on the path of Saturn will find spiritual nourishment in helping others through the “death and dying process”. A dying person feels very comfortable around a Saturnine spiritual being. Hospice work and care for the dying are valuable forms of spiritual exercise for Saturnine beings as well. It enhances their feelings of silence and reclusiveness.

Ayurveda, Rolfing, or any other forms of holistic medicine directed at the body, become a form of spiritual practice when focused on by a Saturnine spiritual being.

Nyaya Philosophy, with its emphasis on rational, logical thinking, is also a useful tool for enchancing a Saturnine being’s spiritual life.

The thinking of someone under the influence of Saturn tends to be somewhat mechanical. He or she builds knowledge piece by piece, in a very logical and orderly way.

Saturnine beings are hungry for information. They are capable of creating an inspirational whole by bringing order to bits of information. Computers reflect this style of thinking.

Life in ancient India was conducive to the practice of this path. Modern life is in conflict with this path.

The doorway of Saturn is also the path of grief. Saturn is like a stern father who punishes the child who fails to stay with the present moment and longs for the past or the future. But a Saturnine spiritual being is also capable of transforming grief into spiritual insight.

Studying Western Philosophy is an appropriate spiritual exercise for those on the path of Saturn.

Saturn beings often have to deal with fear. In many instances this fear involves threats to their own boundaries, space, and privacy.

Saturnine beings love to simplify their life- they like to sweep the table clean and start over. Thus, when life’s circumstances destroy everything they have created, they can actually feel a sense of elation.

Saturn brings a natural indolence to the nature. If this indolence is not countered by physical discipline, it can create imbalances.

There is no such thing as a universal meditation; there are only styles of meditation. The Saturn style is an emphasis on simplicity, physical discipline, and (other than just sitting) doing very little in the name of meditation. Zen meditation is very Saturnine – one just sits, staring at a blank wall!

All forms of “emptiness meditation”, such as taught by Pandit Ravi Shankar, are Saturnine in nature. So are his “Kriya” breathing techniques.

Meher Baba was a great Saturnine spiritual teacher. Thus, his ability to stay in silence for 40 years.

If one stays in silence too long, one will find it difficult to come out. One will postpone coming out, time and time again.

Saturnine beings are not always so sensitive to the subtleties of esoteric knowledge. They prefer a more grounded approach which they can concretely grasp.

Since the path of Saturn is somewhat in conflict with external duty and responsibility, people on this path need to find their version of a cave to which they can retreat periodically.

Saturnine beings love pilgrimages to remote desert or mountain places where they can soak up silence in solitude.

One must learn to do asanas (yoga postures) in a meditative way if one is on this path.

Yogi Amrit Desai understands that Hatha Yoga is more than a form of physical inculcation, it is a spiritual doorway.

Many of the early Christian “desert fathers” were on this path.

This is the doorway of the turtle. Because it seems so slow, it takes perseverance. But often it is the tortoise who wins the race, not the hare.

The physical body is the oldest and therefore the most developed of all the sheaths. Thus, it affords great protection to those on this path.

The first sixteen techniques of Vigyana Bhairava Tantra are Saturnine in nature.

Ram Dass understands this path well.

Some individuals on this path are temporarily overwhelmed by the grief it sometimes brings, but as they get older they value these experiences more than any other.

Those on the path of Saturn can be their own worst enemies when they turn their (normally) healthy skepticism towards themselves.

Individuals on this path need to learn to trust their natural skepticism. It serves them well in most cases.

Fundamentalism is a Saturnine trait. Its emphasis can be useful on this path as long as it is not projected onto others in a universal way.

Art which emphasizes a stark realism is Saturnine at its root.

Terse writing is Saturnine.

Since this path requires considerable time, it confers importance on the science of longevity.

Hatha Yoga by Ramacharaka is a useful book for helping Hatha Yogins simplify their life regimen.

Hatha Yoga: The Hidden Language by Swami Radha is most appropriate for those who are on the path of Laya or Kundalini Yoga and want to learn Hatha Yoga in a way suitable to their own sadhana.

In today’s world it may be difficult to do many of the purifications required in Hatha Yoga practice.

Iyengar’s form of Hatha Yoga is very Saturnine. It emphasizes precise technique as an important ingredient in bringing about proper purification.

A Saturnine person’s need to establish clear personal boundaries can sometimes be a headache to others.

Saturnine spiritual beings can also be dogged in pursuing a subject. They won’t let things go. This can be useful in their spiritual life, but not necessarily elsewhere.

In times of crisis or tragedy, you are blessed to have a spiritually evolved Saturnine person come into your life.

The American Indian spiritual tradition is basically Saturnine. Drumming, for example, grounds one in the physical. So does the harsh, austere life of the Hopi Indians.

Hatha Yogis often resort to more physical approaches to God realization, including the use of mind-altering drugs such as peyote or LSD. They employ these substances in a very disciplined way, if their spiritual nature is strong.

The path of Hatha Yoga is all too often subtly undermined by teachers from other Yogic paths. They treat it as a second class yoga, useful only as an adjunct therapy to one of the “major” yogas.

“Better one’s own path than the path of another.”

Beginners on the path of Saturn should focus on periodic pilgrimages to quiet, reclusive places where they can be in silent retreat for a few days, or even weeks, if time allows.

Zen monasteries offer such services, but one can also rent a little cabin in the woods.

Caste

The field of Dharma or Caste Nature is the field of living that relates to ‘moral, ethical, or evolutionary behavior’. So it has to do with our values, the lens through which we view the world.

The caste structure in modern day India is a perverted one, based on birth and heredity rather than one’s natural inclination as revealed by one’s spiritual blueprint.

There are five possible individual caste natures: 1) Brahmin 2) Kshatriva 3) Vaishya 4) Shudra 5) Outcaste

Brahmins are the priests, counselors, educators of society. They lead the cultural-religious-educational caste institution, giving knowledge to society, especially spiritual knowledge.

Kshatriyas are the warriors in society, protecting society physically and sometimes spiritually (protecting through knowledge).

Vaishyas are the business or merchant class.

Shudras serve one of the above mentioned castes, but not in a servile way unless Shudra nature is weak. Shudras are very independant people who must learn to serve in a way that does not interfere with their love of freedom and privacy.

Outcastes are the rebels who purify society of its outmoded, outdated conventions. The prefer to live on the fringes of society. Gypsies are good examples of outcastes.

Brahmins are not more interested in knowledge than members of other castes. However, they use it more effectively and creatively to bring spiritual help to society.

Career

The career nature is built on the platform of dharma.

Each planet governs a different type of career. Here is a summary:

Sun – King, leadership
Moon – Queen, nourishing careers like nurses
Mars – Commander-in-Chief – supervisory careers
Mercury – Crown Prince – teaching, bartering or trading, mathematics
Jupiter – Minister (banker, judge, priest, college professor…. positions of dignity)
Venus – Minister (ministerial positions that have an artistic bent…. designer, decorator, painter, musician)
Saturn – Servant – practical, logical, hands-on work, detail-oriented, could be a scientist, accountant, computer programmer
Nodes of the Moon – rebellious careers, either working by themselves or with people who value their rebellious nature

Primal Desire (aka the Field of Wealth)

Wealth is more than resources such as money, land, conveyances, good reputation. It concerns what one regards as ‘wealth’, ones prime desire in life.

Here are the Primal desires:

Sun – desire for leadership and adulation
Moon – desire for deep emotional bonding
Mars – desire for self-sufficiency and power
Mercury – desire for all forms of deep, esoteric knowledge and the opportunity to express it
Jupiter – desire for community and fellowship with others
Venus – desire for ideal love relationships and beauty in all its forms
Saturn – desire for a more private, hermetic life
Nodes of the Moon – rebel, revolutionary, outlaw and desire to purify society of outdated, outmoded conventions and institutions.

Relating Style

This field of living includes interpersonal interactions with parents, siblings, children, relatives, friends, and associates.

The eight styles of relating are:

Sun: charismatic, liberal, confident, and authoritative
Moon: empathetic, caring, loving, and nourishing
Mars: bold, willful, and straight to the point
Mercury: flexible, adaptable, fun-loving, and good with words
Jupiter: giving, serving, and balanced in approach
Venus: sweet, romantic, compromising, and idealistic
Saturn: “cut and dried”, patient, plodding, and good in crisis
Nodes: rebellious and iconoclastic

Creative Play

This describes how we re-create, how we enjoy ourselves, and also determines our relationship with children (our own or others’). Each planet describes a different style of play.

Sun – charismatic, liberal, authoritative, confident
Moon – caring, nourishing, loving, empathetic
Mars – courageous, assertive, challenging, and willing to take risks
Mercury – flexible, adaptable, discerning, verbal, and changeable
Jupiter – fair, just, highly social, moderate, and altruistic
Venus – soft, sweet, compromising, positive, idealistic, and socially minded
Saturn – disciplined, patient, slow, retiring and dependable, especially in times of crises….. basking
Nodes of the Moon – rebellious, iconoclastic, independent

Mental Health/Vital Body

When a person wants to project his energy onto the environment in a way that will bring success, influence, popularity, and good reputation, then he will use one of eight styles for doing so:

The Sun projects charismatic leadership
The Moon projects a nourishing, motherly, caring attitude
Mars projects competence, courage, confidence, and assertiveness
Mercury projects adaptability, flexibility, and a keen, perceptive intelligence
Jupiter projects joyfulness, moderation, balance, tolerance, and altruism
Venus projects peace, harmony, and positivity
Saturn projects steadiness, patience, and dependability
Rahu/Ketu – Nodes of the Moon – project rebelliousness, iconoclasm, individualism, and independence

“The spiritual, subjective spiritual blueprint should be treated as a scientific hypothesis rather than as established fact, and it is certainly offered in that spirit.”

Love and God

Love and God

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi spoke a beautiful, devotional message many years ago called ‘Love and God’ in which he paid homage to both aspects of God, the impersonal, absolute aspect and the personal, manifest aspect.

God is absolute, pure, undifferentiated consciousness. Like a still ocean with no waves, it is infinite, unbounded, motionless, genderless. It is the vacuum state in which no thing exists.

And yet, when we shoot a subatomic particle into the vacuum state it becomes alive. Virtual particles appear which go in and out of existence in a microsecond, revealing that the vacuum was always alive with pure potential. It is from this state that all manifestation is born. And this is the personal aspect of God.

Manifestation begins with archetypes of consciousness, universal patterns out of which all creation is molded. These archetypes are the planetary archetypes which arise out of the primordial trifurcation of satt, chit, ananda (being, consciousness, bliss or in other words, absolute bliss consciousness).

A useful way of thinking of these planetary archetypes is to associate them with the chakras, beginning with our seventh or crown chakra, the Sun planetary archetype which is a reflection of our inner radiance, our individual self, atman.

Our third eye is Jupiter which is our inner sense of wisdom, insight, justice, higher mind.

Our throat chakra is Mercury which is our discriminative ability, our creative expression, our left brain, our inner witness.

Our heart chakra is the Moon which is our Heart, the heart of unconditional Love, agape, the love of the Mother.

Our solar plexus is Mars which is our will power, our indomitable spirit, our warrior nature which overcomes all obstacles.

Our second chakra is Venus which is our feeling of romantic Love and our appreciation of Beauty, our senses, our sexuality.

Our root chakra is Saturn which is our physical body and all of physical manifestation, grounded, practical.

And beyond all chakras is Rahu and Ketu which represent desire.

All of this manifest field of creation arises out of the one, still, ocean of consciousness. And it is the Personal aspect of God!

Some people may hear this as ‘I am God’ or ‘We are God’. In truth, no one of us is the totality of God, though we are all aspects of God, waves on the ocean of consciousness, God experiencing itself through each of us in all its grandeur and horror. The personal aspect of God is all of manifest creation, and we are all part of that, each and every cell, every atom, every molecule of creation.

How could God which is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent not also be each and all of Us? The fundamental tenet of Philosophy of Religion is that God is that beyond which nothing greater can be conceived, because if something greater could be conceived then that would be God. By definition this is what we mean by God, that beyond which nothing greater can be conceived. Therefore, God must be all-encompassing.

And this is why in knowing our Self, we can know God. We are all reflections of God’s Love. And that is why each of these planetary archetypes are doorways into our infinite Self, beyond thought.

May the Love of God, God’s Love, be alive in each of our Hearts this Valentine’s Day.

Maharishi’s Spiritual Blueprint

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Today is the first day of the 102nd year since the birth of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. In honor of this great sage who brought so much to uplift the collective consciousness of all humanity, I will share his Spiritual Blueprint.

Maharishi’s Spiritual Nature was governed by the Sun, the Integral Path that does not need to do anything to realize his essential nature as pure Radiance. Those whose spiritual nature is the Sun sit in their own inner radiance, though they can also use elements of all the other paths to transcend and deepen in their awakening. Maharishi described his own awakening as coming through the path of Karma yoga, selfless service, in which he became so attuned to his master, Guru Dev, that he became an extension of his master’s will. The Karma yogi also most fully receives the darshan of his teacher, attuning to the higher vibrational field of his master in the same way a tuning fork resonates at the frequency of a nearby vibrating fork.

Maharishi brought the Raj yogic technique (the path of Venus, the senses) of Transcendental Meditation, a method of transcending the mind using a mantra, a subtle sound, to the world because of its ease and universal effectiveness. As thought dissipates during meditation, the inner witness remains lively, cutting the identification with the mind, our thoughts, as the truth of who we are.

Maharishi’s Primal Desire nature was governed by the planet Mercury, the discriminating intellect. A Mercurial desire nature enjoys exploring all forms of esoteric knowledge and sharing it with others. Maharishi’s keen intellect enjoyed exploring all aspects of pure consciousness in great detail revealing a wealth of knowledge that gave birth to a number of universities. He explored all aspects of the Veda, pure knowledge.

Maharishi’s Relating Style was governed by the Moon, the unconditional Love of the mother, gentle, heart-felt expression. Although he could denounce the deplorable state of the world most vehemently, his big Heart shined forth in all that he said and did as he played with a rose throughout many of his discourses.

Maharishi’s Career nature was governed by Mars, the warrior. He fearlessly slayed the demons of ignorance by introducing a simple method of transcending the mind through his worldwide movement, bringing the experience and knowledge of the transcendental reality of life to the masses.

Maharishi’s field of Creative Play was governed by Saturn, that which basks in its own Presence, retiring from the world of activity to restore and renew.

Maharishi’s Caste nature, his dharma, was governed by the planet Jupiter, the Brahman. Although he was born into the Khastriya (warrior) caste in India, his true caste was that of the teacher who serves society through higher knowledge.

And finally, Maharishi’s personality, his Vital mental field, what he projects into the world, is governed by Venus, beauty. Maharishi was always surrounded by flowers and his desire to create Heaven on Earth included beautiful buildings and landscaping in alignment with Vedic Architecture. He was always an advocate of speaking only the sweet truth, and letting go of negativity.

And so, on this first day of the 102nd year of his birth, we honor this great Being who enriched so many of our lives on this planet. His legacy lives on.

Jai Guru Dev

Donald Trump’s Spiritual Blueprint

Donald Trump’s Spiritual Blueprint

I know everyone is wondering, what is Donald Trump’s Spiritual Blueprint?

Mr. Trump’s spiritual nature is guided by the Sun, which is the spiritual doorway known as Surya Yoga, the integral path. This is a path that draws nourishment from all of the other spiritual paths. The Sun is especially strong in Mr. Trump’s chart as his ascendant is in Leo which is ruled by the Sun.

The Sun is about leadership. And, as with all planets, it has its higher and lower vibrations. The lower aspects of the Sun are ego, arrogance, and self-centeredness. It seeks power and leads from that place. The next higher values of the Sun are positive self-esteem, self confidence, and kingly leadership. The highest values of the Sun are pure essence, radiant universal Self devoid of individual self interest. We all wish for Mr. Trump and the world that he lead from this higher, more expanded possibility of the Sun.

Mr. Trump’s primal desire nature is governed by the Moon which is the desire to be loved and for deep emotional bonding. A weak Moon means a person swings from one desire to another, lacking the steadiness to achieve anything significant. However, a strong Moon can be compassionate and caring. Those with the Moon governing their desire nature often suffer the illusion that an intimate love relationship is necessary for their happiness or spiritual evolution.

Mr. Trump’s relating style is governed by Jupiter, which means giving, serving, and balanced in approach. However, his Jupiter has a strong influence of Mars which can appear a bit like Rambo, jumping in head first and acting impulsively. When Jupiter governs the relating style, a person will enjoy social interaction. Mr. Trump entered his Jupiter maha-dasa (great period) around the time he was elected, which means this is the strongest influence in him right now, and for the next 16 years. Jupiter prospers when action is performed in a benevolent and expansive way as an expression of love for family and humanity and when it is performed without attachment to the results.

Mercury governs Mr. Trump’s career nature which makes him the barterer and trader that he is. It also means he loves a career that gives him a lot of variety and change and allows him to communicate and express himself.

Mars is in the field of creative play for Mr. Trump which means he enjoys risk taking and adventurous activities as his favorite form of recreation. The adrenalin rush of gambling or other challenging forms of recreation will appeal to him. He enjoys competing and winning.

Venus is the planet which is in Mr. Trump’s dharma which makes him a member of the Brahmin caste. In its lower vibrations Venus can lead to attachment to sensory pleasures and beauty. In the field of dharma it can make a person look down on other people in what they perceive are the lower castes, though in reality there are no higher or lower castes. All serve their own unique and valuable function in society. The particular placement of Venus in Mr. Trump’s charts makes him especially keen on replacing outmoded customs and conventions. His Venus has the flavor of tamasic Jupiter which wants to make changes to society without changing its fundamental structure.

And finally, Rahu/Ketu, the nodes of the Moon, govern Mr. Trump’s mental health which makes him project rebelliousness, individualism, and independence.

Your Unique Blueprint

Your Unique Blueprint

Archetypes assist us in looking at our lives from a much larger, more mythic and spiritually expansive perspective than our ordinary day-to-day view of reality.

There are planetary archetypes associated with each aspect of our Being:

  • Saturn – Body
  • Venus – Senses
  • Mars – Will
  • Moon – Heart
  • Mercury – Intellect
  • Jupiter – Mind
  • Sun – Ego – Self
  • Rahu/Ketu – Rebel

Astrologically, each of these energies form a configuration that is a composite of where we are right now in our lives. Some things about ourselves we can change easily, some things we can change with focused attention, and some things we simply cannot change. Ask yourself what each of these are for you.

The primary energies that are in play for you at any given moment are given by a composite of these three things:

  • The time of your birth – your astrological birth chart reveals the configuration of the energies at the moment you were born.
  • This time in your life – what Maha-dasa (great cycle) and subcycles you are in during this period of your life indicates which of these energies is most fully expressed now.
  • Today’s energy configuration – also known as the Transits. The Transits are the energy configuration in the cosmos right now, where all of the planets are in the zodiac and in relation to one another.

All three of these influence the experience we are having right now.

What can we do?

By becoming aware of each of these energies within us and how they express themselves we can raise them to their highest vibration and bring balance and harmony to all aspects of our lives.

Shiva Presence

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

I had heard a little bit about Shiva before 1995, but not much. All I knew was he was the guy in this picture, a Hindu deity, the destroyer. And one time a ‘psychic seer’ told me that Shiva was my main deity. I didn’t know what that really meant as I had had no particular affinity for him.

But then I met Gangaji.

When she walked into the room and sat on the couch, she and everyone in the room closed their eyes. I thought ‘oh, they must be meditating’ so I closed my eyes too.

The silence, the Presence was so thick you could cut it with a knife. There was no thought, just pure Presence of Being. And the first thought that arose was ‘Wow, now that is darshan (the power emitted by an enlightened one which can silence the mind)’ . And I knew the true power of Shiva, the destroyer, the annihilator, that resides within all of us, which is there to silence our minds and reveal the inner Presence, the witness, the stillness, who we truly are.

Shiva is not something outside of us. It is an ever present force that is within all of us.

Find which Doorway activates this power and brings your mind to its knees, even for a few moments. It may change your life, and it will certainly change the way you perceive life and the world.

3 Steps on the Spiritual Ladder

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Edward Tarabilda identified three steps or stages on the spiritual ladder. Probably most of us will be able to relate to these.

The three steps are:

  1. The step of traditional religion
  2. The step of the spiritual seeker
  3. The step of the Self Realized, Awakened, Being.

Each has its value on the spiritual journey.

Stage one is what most of us have grown up with. It generally involves the belief that god is separate from humankind. God is the creator and we humans and all of the universe is the creation. Morality and spiritual values are learned at this stage, not only with the hope of attaining heaven in the afterlife, but also in creating a more harmonious and loving world.

Stage two occurs when we have a spiritual experience in which God is not separate from us, or our mind stops while we are still awake and we experience pure awareness, or some other revelatory experience happens that makes us yearn for union with the divine. Or it may just be the desire for self improvement, the dissatisfaction with ordinary life, and the inner knowingness that there is more to life.

Stage three on the spiritual ladder is the stage of Awakening, of the Self Realized Being. At this stage we know the truth of who we are beyond identification, as the silent Stillness and Presence at the core of our Being. Awareness has always been who we are, but now this inner Peace has come to the forefront of our experience, and all thoughts, ideas, beliefs, roles have retreated into the background. You now feel the indwelling Presence of the divine and your connection with all of life.

At this stage we experience our individual self as a wave on the ocean of consciousness (metaphorically), and all others as individual waves, though we are all made of the same substance, awareness, consciousness. Our essence is like the water in the ocean (consciousness). And each individual wave is an expression of this water. God is experienced as the totality of the ocean of which we are a part. So in this sense God is not separate from us, and at the same time is bigger, vaster, more wholistic, infinite intelligence.

At the first stage on the spiritual ladder, “Doorways to Awakening” can help to enliven the desire for more.

At the second stage on the spiritual ladder, “Doorways to Awakening” and your spiritual blueprint, provides a practical roadmap to the various time-tested paths to expand our consciousness, bring us into harmony with our inner Source, and point the way to powerful experiences of the divine within.

At the third stage on the spiritual ladder, for those that already know themselves as this infinite inner Presence, although there is the experience of wholeness of consciousness and no need for anything else, “Doorways to Awakening” makes us aware of the energies of the planets which are alive within all of us and make up the totality of our Being. They are there to serve in our deepening of this experience of Presence into all areas of our lives; our body, our mind, our intellect, our desires, our will, and our senses. There is no end in this lifetime to our spiritual growth. “Doorways to Awakening”, and your spiritual blueprint, can help guide you to your dharmic path and to even greater fulfullment in all areas of your life.
